Cranberry Heirloom Ensemble

Looking for a dramatic Christmas garland display that can transform a doorway, large opening, or architectural space without permanently attaching decor to your home? The Cranberry Heirloom Ensemble is an Interior Delights original inspired by the viral shower curtain rod Christmas decorating hack. We designed the entire ensemble for you, combining lush Christmas greenery, illuminated glass ornaments, deep cranberry accents, pearl ornaments, velvet ribbon, and warm twinkle lights to create a layered Christmas installation with the feeling of a display collected over generations.

This thoughtfully curated Christmas ensemble takes the guesswork out of creating a large scale holiday installation. Instead of trying to determine how many garlands, ornaments, lights, and finishing details you need, the coordinating pieces have already been selected to work together. Rich cranberry tones and luminous glass ornaments give the display an heirloom inspired quality, while the greenery creates the full, draping foundation that makes the entire arrangement feel abundant.

The Cranberry Heirloom Ensemble was designed to fit spaces approximately 60" to 80" wide using a tension rod or similar secure fixture purchased separately. For the shower curtain rod method, we recommend choosing a high quality tension rod that is at least 10" longer than your opening so it can be properly tightened and secured.

Designer Styling Tip: Build your greenery foundation first, then position the illuminated glass ornaments at varying heights rather than hanging them in a straight line. Tuck the cranberry and pearl ornaments throughout the greenery, weave the warm twinkle lights deeper into the branches, and finish with petite cranberry velvet ribbon. The combination of different ornament shapes, sizes, finishes, and hanging heights is what gives this display its collected heirloom look.

Important Installation Information

The tension rod or hanging fixture is not included. Measure your space before purchasing your rod. If using the shower curtain rod method, choose a high quality tension rod at least 10" longer than your opening so there is enough tension to properly secure it.

Many decorators have successfully used the shower curtain rod Christmas garland hack, but tension rods can slip or fall if they are not properly installed. We recommend assembling this project with two people so one person can support the rod while the other adjusts and secures it. Before leaving the display unattended, make sure the rod is fully tightened, stable, level, and not drooping. Always use your own judgment when determining whether your rod and installation method can safely support the completed ensemble.

We recommend having green zip ties, clear fishing line, a step stool, scissors, and 9 AA batteries for your illuminated pieces on hand before beginning assembly.
